CONTESTS
--Toasted cheese Midsummer Tale writing contest:
The theme of the 2013 A Midsummer Tale writing contest is: Retreat / Encounter.
Summer is often a time when normal routines are set aside. Sometimes it's a time to venture outside one's comfort zone, to encounter something challenging or unexpected. Sometimes it's a time to hit pause or reset, to retreat from overscheduled everyday life. Sometimes it can be both. For the 2013 A Midsummer Tale Writing Contest, write a story—fiction or nonfiction—of retreat and/or encounter.
Deadline: June 21
--Writers Tribe Review
We're currently collecting submissions for this Fall in: The Humor Issue
All entries must pertain to this theme. (We're not saying that humor is an issue, but we wish to issue humor. Yes.) Each piece should be no more than 3,000 words.
Deadline: Submissions are due on August 30, 2013, at midnight.
